At the Church of St. James in Ljubljana, we will host the J.Pzn Sweelinck University Orchestra from Amsterdam, the oldest student symphony orchestra in Amsterdam (founded in 1878), comprising around 80 young musicians – students from Dutch universities, conservatories, and higher education institutions.

Under the baton of conductor Jurjen Hempel, they will perform a beautiful program of classical music:

• Benjamin Britten – Four Sea Interludes from the opera Peter Grimes
• Franz Schubert – Symphony No. 8 in B minor (“Unfinished”)
• Jean Sibelius – Symphony No. 1 in E minor

The concert is free of charge, with open doors for all lovers of classical music.
