Live Stones, known internationally as Pietre Vive, is a global Ignatian network of young people who combine faith, art, and culture. Their mission is to help visitors discover the spiritual and artistic treasures hidden in historic churches through guided tours, reflection, and storytelling.
In Slovenia, Live Stones operates through the Jesuit Collegium in Ljubljana. Volunteers – mostly students and young professionals – are trained to offer inspiring tours of sacred art and architecture, bringing churches to life by explaining their spiritual symbolism, history, and artistic details.
One of the churches where Live Stones offers guided tours is St. James’s Church (Cerkev sv. Jakoba), a baroque jewel of Ljubljana. Their approach is not just to provide historical facts but to invite visitors into a deeper experience, seeing the church as a “living stone” of faith and culture.
