Beneath the Cross – in the silence of loss
When you enter the chapel where Mary holds her lifeless Son,
there are no words, no explanations –
only silent nearness, an open hand,
a gaze toward the heavens without an answer.
This is not an image of victory,
but a space of questions.
There may be losses in your own life too:
people who are no longer with you.
But also lost security, relationships, dreams, strength,
paths that never came to be.
Where there is pain – but also compassion.
Light a candle.
For a person.
For a dream.
For a road that ended too soon.
For the questions that remain unanswered.
Let the flame speak where words fall silent.
God sees.
Mary understands.
You are not alone.
